Happy Easter!

I hope everyone had a great Easter. Ours was nice... for the most part (kids can get pretty CRAZY when they eat candy all day long)! Emma surprised us with her ability to open candy wrappers and consume candy at an unbelievable pace. I think she's pretty talented. :)

Coloring Eggs

The boys had fun coloring Easter eggs on Saturday. Emma wasn't interested in decorating her eggs, she just wanted to pull everything off the table and throw it on the ground. So, she ended up getting banished from the table. :)

Julian's Blessing

Julian's blessing was last Sunday. It was a beautiful blessing, and we're glad we could be there (although since they live so close, it would be pretty lame if we couldn't be there). It was also fun to visit with Grandma and Grandpa Hubbard while they were here for the blessing. The only part that was NOT fun was taking the kids to 11:00 am Sacrament Meeting. Emma was SO tired, and by the time we were driving home, it had escalated into the biggest fit I've ever seen her throw. Poor thing! Anyway, I'm going to try not to think about that part.

By the way, here's a picture of Noah in the blessing outfit that both he and Isaac wore. I think it's cool that Stefani picked one for Julian that was so similar (Julian's had long pants and Isaac/Noah's was a short romper - otherwise pretty much the same).Anyway, it's a rare thing when Stefani and I have the same taste in something, so I thought I'd note it for posterity. (And Stefani, I think you know that I mean that in the most loving way - it's fun that we're different). :)

Frisco Easter Eggstravaganza

Last Saturday we took the kids to the Frisco Easter Eggstravaganza. It was fun, but very crowded and kind of cold. The kids didn't seem to mind, though.

The event was supposed to be divided by age (with different age kids hunting for eggs on different fields), but we didn't want to split the kids up so we put them all on the Preschool age field. They excitedly gathered at the edge of the field where thousands of eggs were laid out and waited for the siren to sound. And when it did, it was a mad dash to gather the eggs (I think Isaac filled his bucket in about 30 seconds). It was fun to watch them. Isaac gathered mostly plastic eggs, and Noah and Emma gathered candy eggs (don't worry, they were wrapped). They all ended up with way more candy than they needed (especially since it was mostly gross, cheap candy), and were very happy about it.

We originally intended to stay and do the bounce houses and visit the Easter Bunny, but (like I said) it was really crowded, so we opted to go to the mall and see the Easter Bunny there. This was the result:

Blog Book

When I started this blog, my plan was for it to also be my journal, and to have a blog book printed at the end of each year. Well, I finally got around to ordering my 2007 blog book, and it came last week (or maybe the week before - I can't remember). I love it!

Well, a few days ago I was finally able to pick up the pictures I had taken of the kids at JCPenney. After all my craziness, in the end I think they turned out alright. See for yourself:

. . And Even MORE Snow!

The snow from Monday night melted away by about noon on Tuesday. Wednesday was a warm day. David wore shorts on his run and I didn't wear a jacket while running errands. Then today, this is what we got:


It was snowing pretty hard by the time I picked Isaac up from school. When we got back to the house, I couldn't get my car to drive up the driveway. The wheels just kept turning. We don't own a shovel, so David got the broom and "swept" away enough snow for me to get the car into the garage. Then we played! Emma was in her bed (she didn't seem to be a huge fan of playing in the snow the other day, anyway), but Isaac, Noah, David and I played. We (mostly David and I) built "Mr. Snowy" (Isaac named him). It was my first time constructing a snowman. We tried to give him strawberry eyes and a carrot nose, but the snow was so icy and hard, we couldn't get them to poke in. So, we made do with raisins for eyes and nose, chow mein noodles for hair and a strawberry juice mouth (painted by Isaac).

... And More Snow!

We woke up to a winter wonderland (at least by Texas standards). The kids had fun playing in it before breakfast. Emma wasn't sure what to make of it, but she still wanted to stay outside with her brothers.

By the way, have I mentioned that two days ago I had my air conditioner running?

SNOW!

My blog may be decorated for Spring, but outside it sure doesn't look like Spring. We had our first snowfall this evening. Snow was in the forecast, so all afternoon the kids were hoping to see some white flurries falling from the sky, but no luck. Then, after Emma was in bed and the boys were dressed in their jammies (OK, it was only 6:45, but my kids go to bed early), we noticed that it was snowing! Of course they had to go outside and play in it for a few minutes. It was definitely "Texas" snow - very wet! Isaac was so excited, and when David pointed out that he had played in snow in Utah before, he just said, "This is the first time it's snowed where I live!" I guess that made is more interesting somehow. :) Both boys didn't want to come in ,even though they were freezing and their jammies were soaked. Maybe there will still be some snow tomorrow for them to play in...

"Scared Limp"

Saturday evening we thought it would be fun to take the kids to Rainforest Cafe . Maybe not... Poor Emma was scared "limp". Kind of like "scared stiff", except instead of being stiff, she went completely limp. She was perfectly fine before we went in, but as soon as we sat down, she laid her head on the table and didn't move. We actually thought she was sick. The only time I've seen her that still is when she is going to throw up. She is NEVER still! We didn't figure out that she was scared until after we left, and she was suddenly back to herself again. Poor little girl!

Noah was also scared at first, especially since we were right next to a gorilla like this:


He cried and said he wanted to go home (luckily it's so loud in there with all the Rainforest noises, that we knew nobody else could hear him). He warmed up to the place, though, especially when they brought out the "volcano" - a GIANT brownie and ice cream dessert arranged like a volcano and with a real (lit) sparkler on top.

The rest of us (Isaac, David, me and my mom) had a great time. Good food. Fun atmosphere! So, will we be going back anytime soon? Maybe. At least Emma was "easy" during dinner (what's easier than a kid who doesn't move?).
