One of my favorite things about the Frisco School District is how family friendly everything is. One example of this is lunch time. Parents (and grandparents, siblings, etc) are welcome to come have lunch with their child. All you have to do is check in at the office and head over to the cafeteria. You can go through the lunch line with your child and buy lunch, bring food for you and your child (like McDonald's or something), or just sit with them while they eat. So one day last week when my mom was visiting and Noah was at Preschool we went on down to the school and had lunch with Isaac (Emma stayed home with David). The three of us bought "school lunches" and ate together at a table along with Isaac's friend Connor. It was fun, and Isaac felt very special that we came and spent time with him while he was at school.

Lunch Time!

First Haircut!
Emma got her first haircut last Saturday. It was getting REALLY scraggly and long in the back, and was basically uneven everywhere else. So, she got the back trimmed quite a bit, and the rest evened up a little. The top row shows "before" pictures, the middle row is "during" pictures, and the bottom row is "after" pictures.
The whole haircut thing is MUCH more difficult with a girl. When my boys needed their first haircut, I just got it cut. With Emma, I just really didn't know what to do. It has to go through a scraggly stage if it's ever going to grow longer and be one length. But it doesn't need to be 2 inches longer in the back, so I figured I was safe cutting that off! Of course, this whole thing wouldn't be such a problem if she would allow me to put clips in her hair. She even figured out how to pull out her pigtails! She pulled one out during Sacrament Meeting on Sunday, and then the rubber band broke when I tried to put it back in. So I ended up having to take her to the bathroom and wet her hair down to keep it from looking totally funky. David says I need to just face the facts that she doesn't like "stuff" in her hair. I don't think I'm ready to accept that yet . . .

Fort Isaac
Yesterday Isaac decided he wanted to make a "fort". He attempted to do it by himself by lining up toys to make "walls" for his fort. He was so proud of his creation.
I thought he might enjoy the fort a little more if it actually had a "roof", so I gave him a quick lesson in fort building: drape big blankets over chairs and other tall objects, crawl in, and have fun. The kids had a ton of fun sitting in their fort (while Emma wasn't tearing it apart). I remember builing HUGE forts in the family room when I was a kid, using a bunch of blankets. Their fort was a mini fort, but just perfect for them!

Naughty Little Rascal!

Emma is such a naughty little rascal. These pictures say it all. Note the devious look and scraggly hair. That's my Emma! Who says that girls are calm? Emma is the craziest of my three (so far). It probably wasn't a very good idea to take these pictures, though. She really thought she was funny stuff when she saw me get the camera out. :)

My Dad's Wedding
Emma and I flew to Arizona over the weekend for my Dad's wedding. Flying with a 15 month old is not very fun, but she did alright.
My Dad and his bride, Yvonne, met country dancing, so they decided to have a "western" wedding in their backyard. Everyone dressed western (boots, hats, jeans, etc.) and sat on bales of hay for the ceremony. I actually even wore cowboy boots with a denim skirt, but I didn't get any pictures that show them. :) Emma looked so cute in her dress and boots! It was a fun wedding. Congratulations Dad and Yvonne!

Preschool Pics!
I couldn't get the pics to work on the other post, so here they are. I was going to re-post the whole thing, but I didn't want to delete the comments. :)

Preschool!
Today is Noah's first day of preschool! He was so excited to go to school with his cool lunchbox/backpack. He had a hard time waiting until it was time to go. Then when I dropped him off, he got kind of shy. He started to cry a little, but he was trying really hard not to let it out. It was sweet. I'm sure he got over it as soon as I left, though. :) I'm so glad that it worked out for him to be able to go to preschool. I signed him up for preschool back in February (before we even moved here), but they require 3 year olds to be potty trained. In February I figured that surely Noah would be potty trained by September. Unfortunately, I was wrong! He's still not even close to being potty trained. When it became apparent that he wasn't going to be potty trained by September, I called and cancelled his enrollment in the preschool, which was a major bummer because I had paid $100 registration fee and $100 supply fee, and neither were refundable. Worse than that, I felt really bad for Noah that he wasn't going to get to go. Then Amy told me that someone in our ward was starting a preschool at her house (Thanks Amy!!). I quickly called, and she had one more spot open and she didn't mind that he's still in diapers! Yea!! I was so happy! I think it all worked out perfectly! I'm sure it's going to be great for him(and not bad for me too!).
